Lakeway/Bee Caves
Bee Cave, a young city located just west of downtown Austin, was incorporated in 1987. The community created the feel of living in a big city without the “big city.” The unique name derives from the colonies of Mexican honey bees that live on the banks of Barton Creek. Thanks to its location and close proximity to Austin hotspots, Bee Cave is a popular place to live.
Lakeway is situated on the south shore of Lake Travis, and about 25 miles west of downtown Austin. The resort community is complete with golf courses, tennis courts, marinas, a private airport, a 65-mile long lake, and 100 acres of parkland and trails. Lakeway offers its residents a relaxing “lake lifestyle.”
